Sizing and control rules of dedicated mechanical subcooler in transcritical CO2 booster systems for commercial refrigeration

Use of Dedicated Mechanical Subcoolers gives rise to the need an optimisation process involving gas cooler pressure, activation and setpoint temperature values, subcooling degree subcooler size, with aim further improving energy efficiency while considering costs. In this paper a thermoeconomic analysis is performed on commercial refrigeration plant, at four climate conditions from warm hot, time-dependent refrigerating load depending location, resulting in some design control rules for DMS. terms efficiency, size DMS appears be more crucial hot (difference up 3.5% saving), sizes ranging 35% 45% total cooling capacity. Optimal should preferentially adopted mild-warm conditions, suggesting exploit highest rate available. The economic shows that use most important cost item.
